Hotel sigiriya over 2000 years ago,the sigiriya rock was a magnificent palace hideaway for a king. today,you can lay back and lounge by the themed pool of hotel sigiriya and enjoy perhaps the best view of this unesco world heritage wonder.hotel sigiriya is a 4 hour drive from the international airport and 4 1/2 hours away from the city of colombo.the 34 standard rooms are complete with air-conditioning,telephone,piped music,hair dryer and tea/coffee making facilities.the 45 superior rooms are additionally equipped with a flat screen tv with dvd,mini bar and an in-room safe.the hotel has an open-air lounge bar,where guests are afforded magnificent views of the rock fortress whilst enjoying a traditional sri lankan arrack cocktail.the hotel also has one restaurant serving international buffets,table d'hote and ala carte.hotel sigiriya is the 2008 irha award winner for best green hotel-in the value category.the hotel has also taken a number of initiatives to protect the environment.
