The family-friendly hotel, formerly known as Bucharest Hotel, was taken over by the famous Romanian footballer Gica Hagi in 1999. Considerable investment and a modernisation programme were undertaken and two years later, on 4 July 2001, a brand new hotel appeared on the map of Mamaia. The beach hotel, which consists of a main building and a neighbouring building, is spread over three floors with a total of 98 rooms, including junior suites, double rooms, apartments, and a terrace. Guests are welcomed in the lobby area of this air-conditioned establishment with a 24-hour reception, safe, cloakroom, currency exchange facility, and lift access. Further facilities include an Internet connection with W-LAN access (charges apply), a caf, a newspaper stand, a selection of shops, a hairdressing salon, a bar, a nightclub, a TV lounge, a restaurant, a breakfast and dining room, and a conference room. Younger guests may let off steam in the play area, and both room and laundry services as well as medical assistance round up the facilities on offer. Those arriving by car may make use of the car park and garage.
